The Allman Brother's Band Listserv

Welcome to the (un)Official Home Page for the Allman Brother's Band Listserv. If you have never run into a Listserv group before you may ask what is it???? A Listserv is an e-mail manager of some sophistication. Our Listserv centers around the Allman Brother's Band and the "conversation" there stays with the Band and the Blues mainly. That's not to say we never vary! We carry our "conversations" on by e-mail. People send their e-mail to the Listserv, which distributes the e-mail to those subscribed. Some people find the volume of mail distracting and set the Listserv for them to "digest" form, which means they receive the e-mails as a digest instead of individual e-mails. You can find many things of musical interest being discussed here. While many bands, Including the ABB have usenet news groups (probably the best known example would be rec.music.gdead), the main discourse between fans of the Allman Brothers Band occurs through e-mail by way of the Listserv instead of on a usenet group. If you would like to join the Listserv, click on the e-mail link following, and in the body of the message write: "subscribe allman" (without the quotation marks) and then follow the instructions you receive by return e-mail:

On the index to the left there is a link That says "Listserv" which is a reference of commands for the Listserv and information on formating the Listserv to serve you the way you wish. This is provided for you by the Listserv's own resident historian, and the editor of our FAQ, Eliot Spindel.

This is our Home Page as a group of people.
